Fear my photography skills!
These pants aren’t proper Renaissance-y slops, but a quick knock up of something similar. Well, kind of similar. Not really similar. They are made of rectangular construction (in fact, the base fabric started life as hakama!) whereas real slops or breeches of the Renaissance in Western Europe would have a shaped pattern. The story I’ve had in my head as I work on Rabbit’s costume is that none of the outer garments were made for him, but rather cobbled together from different sources and held together with the ingenuity of a low-budget theater costumer.
